Black Veterans Project collaborates with writers, journalists, visuals storytellers and artists to capture and amplify the experiences of Black veterans in and out of uniform.

BVP works to inform national reporting and multimedia storytelling on inequities affecting Black service members and veterans, believing journalism and media play powerful roles in shifting public narratives through education and learning.

In 2022, BVP spearheaded storytelling for the Black Veterans Empowerment Council, a national coalition seeking to shift long-standing racial and economic inequities suffered by Black veterans in the United States.

While leveraging our research, our storytelling advances public understanding and bi-partisan policy reform to foster greater equity and opportunity for Black veterans and their families.
